Norfolk Southern’s (NS) Decatur Intermodal Terminal is one of five intermodal terminals in Illinois. The other ramps are located in Chicago, Landers, Calumet, 63rd Street, and 47th Street. The small Decatur facility is located at the NS Decatur Yard where a number of plants are located such as the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) corn processing facility and Tate & Lyle, which processes corn syrup.

In September 2013, Archer Daniels Midland opened the ADM Intermodal Ramp, a public facility, north of the NS Decatur facility. Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, and CSX have access to the ADM ramp. There are no plans to close the NS Decatur facility.

According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, the facility is located on the Lafayette District Subdivision.
