History

The Mid-America Freight Coalition (formerly the Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition) has been in operation since 2002 and is currently authorized through 2012.

In April 2007, testimony was presented on behalf of the then Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition (MVFC) to the National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission.

In 2008, the Board of Directors of Mississippi Valley Conference approved the extension of the MVFC until 2010.

In 2010, the Board of Directors of the Mid-America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO) approved the extension of the MAFC until 2012. In October 2010, the Technical Committee voted to change the name of the coalition from the Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition (MVFC) to the Mid-America Freight Coalition (MAFC).
