CSX Evansville (DFR) is one of two intermodal terminals CSX operates in Indiana. The other is CSX Indianapolis (Avon). Evansville is also referred to as the Dixie Flyer Road Intermodal Terminal. DFR is located in southern Indiana along the Ohio River across from Kentucky. This terminal offers, in addition to container-on-flat-car (COFC), transloading between truck and rail. CSX has branded this service as Transflo.

According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, this intermodal terminal is located on the Evansville Terminal B. No other railroads have trackage rights over this line. According to the Indiana State Rail Plan, CSX Evansville has a capacity of 31,000 lifts.

Intermodal Connectors

The map shows that the intermodal connector, Ray Becker Parkway does not extend to the gate. According to the Interactive GIS map at the Evansville MPO, Dixie Flyer is outside the Evansville urbanized area.

Intermodal Lanes

This facility handles only container traffic (COFC) both domestic/private container and international containers.
