CSX Louisville is one of four intermodal terminals in Kentucky and the only CSX intermodal terminal in Louisville. It is a COFC only terminal that is co-located with Osborn Yard, Louisville International Airport (SDF), and UPS. It is considered an emerging intermodal center. The facility opened in January 2012 to improve traffic flows to/from the Northwest Ohio ICTF. It can also be considered an Inland Port for the amount of freight distribution that occurs at this facility.
According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, this terminal is located on the Louisville Terminal A Subdivision.
