BNSF’s St. Paul Intermodal Terminal (MDW) is also referred to as BNSF Midway and it is located in the Midway Industrial Area of St. Paul, MN. MDW is also located on BNSF’s Corridors of Commerce, specifically the Great Northern and the MidCon Corridors.
According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, MDW is located on BNSF’s Midway Subdivision. A number of other railroads have trackage rights over this line: Canadian Pacific (CP), Union Pacific (UP), Minnesota Commercial Railroad (MNNR), and the Twin Cities & Western Railroad (TC&W).
Intermodal Connectors
There are no intermodal connectors to this facility. An extensive network of truck routes exists to service the Midway Industrial Area. As part of the planning process for the West Midway Industrial Strategy conversations with BNSF indicated the desire for improved transportation connections to include the eastbound extension of Pierce Butler route and US-51/Snelling Avenue.

About 500 trucks enter the facility per day. Prior to the recession about 260,000 lifts/year were processed according to the West Midway Industrial Strategy Draft.
