Air Cargo World recently released the top 50 global lists for 2012 air cargo carriers and air cargo airports. Top US-based carriers include Federal Express (6,934k tonnage), UPS (4,572k tonnage), LAN Airlines (769k tonnage), Delta Air Lines (530k tonnage), and United Airlines (466k tonnage).
Numbers of airplanes within air cargo carrier fleets, expected orders for new airplanes, and numbers of destinations for the air cargo carriers were reported by Scarpati (2011), and summarized below.
