AASHTO Calls for Greater Investment in Marine Infrastructure

Mid-America Freight Coalition

In a report released today, AASHTO makes the case for greater investment in the marine infrastructure system of the United States.

“The Waterborne Freight Transportation Bottom Line Report identifies threats to the future of the Marine Transportation System and offers a number of key findings and action alternatives. The action alternatives include the creation of a new Office of Multimodal Freight at the USDOT and the implementation of best practices for planning and investment among Federal, state, regional, and local organizations to improve and modernize waterborne freight transportation to make the United States competitive in the 21st Century.”
