MAFC 36: Freight Impacts to Natural Resources and the Environment in State Freight Plans

Anupam Srivastava

The Freight Impacts to Natural Resources and the Environment in State Freight Plans report is now available.  This project identifies a range of freight planning and operational best practices that reduce the natural resource impacts of freight development and movement. Assessments of impacts to freight movement from natural events are also included. Best practices for assessing and limiting impacts are identified through state freight plans, and through 4 case studies. The case studies were developed in coordination with freight and environmental professionals and provide an expanded review of the four environmental and resiliency planning requirements of IIJA.
