Norfolk Southern’s (NS) Louisville-Buechel Intermodal Terminal (LOU) is one of three intermodal terminals in Kentucky. It is an older facility, constructed in 1977.  LOU can be accessed via I-65 and the terminal is located within four miles of Interstates 64 and 71.  NS Louisville-Appliance Park is located within 2.5 miles of Buechel.

Buechel has a capacity of 80,000 lifts per year.

According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, the facility is located on the Louisville Subdivision. CSX has trackage rights over this line.
