Schneider National owns the Marion (MAR) intermodal terminal. Schneider entered into an agreement with CSX and Kansas City Southern in 2006 to provide service from Marion to Kansas City. The facility and its supporting logistics companies are referred to as the Ohio Valley Intermodal facility and the Marion Industrial Center. CSXT, the divisions that operates CSX’s terminals, refers to this facility as an intermodal partner-operated terminal.

MAR was used for intermodal operations during the CSX Columbus (Buckeye Yard) improvements. According to the Marion Star, MAR has undergone recent capacity improvements which include a railroad turn 25 miles away in Ridgeway, OH and the construction of a loop track. These improvements will facilitate moves between the Northwest Ohio ICTF and Marion. Marion works as a spoke to the CSX NW OHIO ICTF hub. The Ohio Rail Development Commission has been a partner for funding improvements.

According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, the Marion intermodal terminal is located on the Mt. Victory Subdivision.

Access to the facility is OH 309 to US 30 or US 23 to US 30. Interstate 71, 23 miles away is the closest interstate.
