CSX Indianapolis (PLN) is located in Avon Indiana thirteen miles from downtown Indianapolis. This facility is one of two CSX intermodal terminals in Indiana. It is also referred to as the Plainfield Intermodal Terminal. It was built in 1965 and according to the Indiana Rail Plan, has a capacity of 100,000 lifts.

According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, this facility is located on the Indianapolis Terminal Subdivision, which connects to the St. Louis Line just outside the facility.

The closest interstate is I-465/I-74. This facility is sited outside of the following MAFC Corridors: I-70, I-74. The corridors for this study are six-miles wide.
