Canadian Pacific’s (CP) Detroit Intermodal Terminal (OYD) is one of three CP intermodal terminals in the United States. This facility is also referred to as the CP Oak Intermodal Terminal. According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, CP has trackage rights over the CSX to access its facility.

According to the Michigan State Rail Plan, CP along with the other railroads in Detroit, Canadian National (CN), CSX, and Norfolk Southern (NS) will fund improvements to the rail network to improve truck flows. The Detroit Intermodal Freight Terminal (DIFT) study produced an alternative for consolidating the intermodal operations of the CSX, NS, and CP railroads at the Livernois-Junction Yard, which is co-owned by CSX and Norfolk Southern. The CP Detroit facility will serve non-intermodal purposes in the future.
