Canadian National’s (CN) Chicago Intermodal Terminal (HRV) is located in Harvey, Illinois. It is also referred to as CN Harvey or CN Gateway. This terminal is one of two CN intermodal terminals in Chicago. The other is CN Joliet.

HRV is a TOFC-COFC facility handling containers and trailers and is located off I-80 and I-294. This terminal is also located within the I-57 corridor. The HRV terminal includes Markham Yard where CN handles automobile warehousing, distribution, and accessorization services (CN Autoport-Markham).

According to the 2013 National Transportation Atlas Database, The CN Chicago Subdivision runs through this intermodal terminal. Amtrak, Metra, and Norfolk Southern have trackage rights over this route.

Heavy commercial vehicle counts (Truck AADT) are available from the Illinois Highway Information System (2012) for some of the intermodal connectors and National Highway System (NHS) roads to this facility.

HRV is the primary focus of the Logistics Park Calumet (LPC) initiative—a cargo oriented development (COD) spearheaded by the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation. This effort focuses on attracting business to underutilized land and vacant brownfields in the area.

The CN Kirk Yard in Gary, IN serves as the major classification yard and hub for intermodal traffic in the Chicago area. CN Chicago serves as a spoke to this hub.
