{"id":754,"date":"2010-10-25T15:30:09","date_gmt":"2010-10-25T15:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mississippivalleyfreight.org\/?p=754"},"modified":"2023-03-03T14:41:23","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T20:41:23","slug":"were-now-the-mid-america-freight-coalition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/index.php\/2010\/10\/25\/were-now-the-mid-america-freight-coalition\/","title":{"rendered":"We&#039;re now the Mid-America Freight Coalition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Summer of 2010, the AASHTO Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) changed its name to the Mid-America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO) to more accurately reflect the needs and concerns of its constituents.<br \/>\nToday, the members of the Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition (MVFC) Technical Committee voted to formally change the name of the coalition to the Mid-America Freight Coalition (MAFC) in order to be consistent with the naming of the AASHTO region.<br \/>\nThe mission of the MAFC won\u2019t change\u2014we\u2019re still focused on the planning, operation, preservation, and improvement of freight transportation infrastructure and networks in the coalition\u2019s ten member states.<br \/>\nFor more information, consult the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mississippivalleyfreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/MAFC_PR_11032010.pdf\">press release<\/a>.<br \/>\n<em>Note: In the coming weeks, we\u2019ll be updating this website (including the domain name), as well as other coalition materials.
