This facility is one of two CSX intermodal terminals in Indiana. It is also referred to as the Plainfield Intermodal Terminal. It was built in 1965 and according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.in.gov\/indot\/files\/Rail_JanFinal_Report_011712.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indiana Rail Plan<\/a>, has a capacity of 100,000 lifts.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rita.dot.gov\/bts\/sites\/rita.dot.gov.bts\/files\/publications\/national_transportation_atlas_database\/2013\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2013 National Transportation Atlas Database<\/a>, this facility is located on the Indianapolis Terminal Subdivision, which connects to the St. Louis Line just outside the facility.<\/p>\n<p>The closest interstate is I-465\/I-74. This facility is sited outside of the following MAFC Corridors: I-70, I-74. The corridors for this study are six-miles wide.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-csx-indianapolis.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4850\" title=\"access-csx-indianapolis\" src=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-csx-indianapolis.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"698\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Intermodal Connectors<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Highway 360\/ Rockville Road connects to I-465\/I-74.<\/li>\n<li>Dan Jones Road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Intermodal Lanes<\/h2>\n<p>This facility handles only container traffic (COFC) both domestic\/private container and international containers. CSX partners with Union Pacific to provide a domestic interline container service for domestic moves called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uprr.com\/customers\/intermodal\/umax\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UMAX<\/a>.
