CSX Detroit is also referred to as Dix Avenue and also as the Livernois-Junction Yard. CSX Detroit is co-located with Norfolk Southern.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/documents\/mdot\/MDOT_MI_SRP_public_review_draft_2011-05-23_600dpi_353776_7.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan State Rail Plan<\/a>, CSX along with other railroads in Detroit&#8211;Canadian National (CN), Canadian Pacific (CP), and Norfolk Southern (NS)&#8211;will fund improvements to the rail network in order to improve truck flows within the city. This effort, known as the Detroit Intermodal Freight Terminal (DIFT) study, produced an alternative for consolidating the intermodal operations of the CSX, NS, and CP railroads at the Livernois-Junction Yard. In the future, the Waterman\/Dix entrances will be closed and an entrance on Livernois will be modified so that trucks can access the facility from I-94 only.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-csx-detroit.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4842\" title=\"access-csx-detroit\" src=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-csx-detroit.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"698\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Intermodal Connectors<\/h2>\n<p>The terminal can be currently accessed via Dix Avenue, a port intermodal connector. \u00a0Other intermodal port connectors in the vicinity of CSX Detroit include Clark Street and Jefferson Street.<\/p>\n<h2>Intermodal Lanes<\/h2>\n<p>This facility can handle TOFC but currently handles only COFC.\u00a0 CSX partners with Union Pacific to provide a domestic interline container service for domestic moves called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uprr.com\/customers\/intermodal\/umax\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UMAX<\/a>.
