It is one of two CSX terminals in Chicago and Illinois. The other terminal is the CSX Bedford Park Intermodal Terminal.<\/p>\n<p>59th\u00a0Street is a 132-acre elevated site that opened in 1998 and it is a container-on-flat-car (COFC) facility. C59 is located on the Blue Island Subdivision. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rita.dot.gov\/bts\/sites\/rita.dot.gov.bts\/files\/publications\/national_transportation_atlas_database\/2013\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2013 National Transportation Atlas Database<\/a>, the Belt Railway Company (BRC), Norfolk Southern (NS) and the Union Pacific (UP) have trackage rights over this line.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-csx-59th.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4826\" title=\"access-csx-59th\" src=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-csx-59th.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"699\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Intermodal Connectors<\/h2>\n<p>There are a number of intermodal connectors near I-90\/94 that serve as access to both the 59th\u00a0Street facility and the NS 63rd\u00a0Street Intermodal Terminal which is located east of I-90\/94.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>59th\u00a0Street<\/li>\n<li>61st\u00a0Street<\/li>\n<li>63rd\u00a0Street<\/li>\n<li>State Street<\/li>\n<li>Wentworth Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Yale Avenue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Intermodal Lanes<\/h2>\n<p>This facility handles COFC and international sized containers (IC) for domestic and international destinations.
