It is located in the Chicago downtown area.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rita.dot.gov\/bts\/sites\/rita.dot.gov.bts\/files\/publications\/national_transportation_atlas_database\/2013\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2013 National Transportation Atlas Database<\/a>, BEN is located on the Elgin Subdivision. Canadian National (CN), Norfolk Southern (NS), and Amtrak have trackage rights over this line. Bensenville is a TOFC-COFC terminal.<\/p>\n<p>Under the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dot.state.il.us\/IL19AtYork\/IL19%20flyer_041813.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CREATE<\/a> project, Irving Park Road at York will be lowered and a bridge for CP\u2019s tracks will be built over the road. This grade separation scheduled to be completed in 2015, will result in the elimination of grade crossing delay for 6,500 motorists and improve the flow of 25 freight trains per day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-cp-bensenville.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4817\" title=\"access-cp-bensenville\" src=\"http:\/\/midamericafreight.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/access-cp-bensenville.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"698\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Intermodal Connectors<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Franklin Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Williams Drive<\/li>\n<li>Belmont Avenue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Intermodal Lanes<\/h2>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cpr.ca\/en\/customer-centre\/shipping-guides\/Documents\/cp-domestic-intermodal-schedule.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CP\u2019s intermodal schedule<\/a>, the following destinations are served by Bensenville.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Calgary, AB<\/li>\n<li>Edmonton, SK<\/li>\n<li>Montreal, QC<\/li>\n<li>Minneapolis, MN<\/li>\n<li>Toronto, ON<\/li>\n<li>Vancouver, BC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Lift Counts<\/h2>\n<p>Data reported by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmap.illinois.gov\/freight-snapshot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning<\/a>. Counts are listed by year.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2012: 187,009<\/li>\n<li>2011: 136,829<\/li>\n<li>2010: 128,040<\/li>\n<li>2009: 103,375<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Schiller Park in Chicago was closed in late September 2012 and traffic for the remainder of the year moved to Bensenville. Bensenville will have higher counts in the future.<\/p>\n<h2>Warehousing and Distribution<\/h2>\n<p>The following map shows the locations warehouses and distribution centers in the vicinity of the CP Bensenville facility. O\u2019Hare Airport and FedEx are in close proximity to the terminal. Bensenville is surrounded by industrial land uses.
